Safety knowledge therefore takes the form of cultural competence able to in uence the style and manner in which meaning and value are attributed to events and to determine the use to which the resources, technologies, artefacts and knowledge of a group or organization are put. As such it offers a vantage point for re ection on the fundamental social and cultural features of learning and knowing in organizations.
